     We sometimes receive customer inquiries, “Is AG glass or AR glass suitable? The answer is widely distributed. This cannot be determined by an indicator. This sentence shares your experience and judgment on customer needs.

     I. Transmittance: The target product specification consists of a cover glass, which is requested, and at a transmittance of 93% or more, basically requires the case of an AR coating. The permeability of ordinary float AG glass is about 88% to 91%. After treatment with Gorilla Glass Etching AG, there is only about 93% light transmission. When using an AR coating, the maximum is 98.5-99%.

     Second, the use of the environment: the use of the product in the case of ambient light or direct sunlight, we recommend AG glass. AG processing forms a matt dim reflection on the glass surface, and reflection and glare are suppressed. In addition, it has been etched to a depth of about 0.05 mm, hospitals, food processing, chemical factories, and military, to ensure that the glass surface does not even fall off, such as voyages. However, the surface of the coated AG may peel off.

     Third, the product cost: according to the specific product and target customer's market positioning, there are a combination of AG glass + AR evaporation. For example, such a design can be seen on a touch panel with central control. Both AG glass and AR glass are difficult to process and are therefore 50% more expensive than glass materials. Therefore, the applicability of AG glass and AR glass is due to the demand of the product itself.

     Fourth, size: AG glass and AR glass are limited to processing size, affecting glass quality and cost. In the current situation, AG glass will complete larger sizes at the same cost. Currently, sputtering is the best in AR glass processing methods. However, sputtering can only be done in a small size. From this point of view, AR glass is more suitable for portable cameras and the like, and the efficiency is also very high.

     V. Strengthening conditions: AR processing after intensive processing. On the other hand, in the glass plate of the material to which the AG glass is treated, chemical strengthening or thermal tempering is performed after the outer shape, and the final screen printing is performed. AG glass (anti-glare glass) is also called non-reflective glass. AR glass (anti-reflective glass) is also known as low-reflection glass. Since it is not difficult to understand this meaning from the name, before this, it is important to meet the needs of customers. So, I think which one is the right answer is coming out.
